Investors looking for an advisor with in-depth experience can turn to Charlie, who has worked in the financial services industry for more than 31 years. He specializes in asset allocation and uses his CPA background to assist clients in minimizing income taxes. Getting to know his clients on a personal basis, he tailors portfolios to their needs and helps them set realistic goals. He has a straightforward and candid manner and a steadfast commitment to doing the right thing.

After working for local, national and regional certified public accounting firms for 25 years, Charlie left the sedate world of accounting for a more rewarding career as a financial advisor. Prior to joining Arco Capital Partners, an independent firm, in 2015, he held various titles at Robinson-Humphrey Co., Lehman Brothers, Citigroup Global Markets, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and most recently Wells Fargo Advisors. There, he was a senior investment management specialist.

Charlie graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and accounting. While a student, he was a member of the freshman basketball team, the varsity track team and treasurer of Delta Sigma Pi.

He is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and its treasurer since 1968; he is also a member of its finance committee and an ex-officio member of the congregational council and executive committee. He serves as advisor to the Benevolent Foundation and is a former member of the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs. Charlie is past president and vice president of the Country Club of Salisbury, served two terms on the Salisbury City Council (1987-1991), serves as treasurer and board member for the Historic Salisbury Foundation, and served for a decade on the Finance and Investment Committee for Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. An instrument-rated private pilot, Charlie was a member of the North Carolina Air National Guard from 1959 to 1965.

He lives in his hometown of Salisbury with his wife, Beth, and his daughter, Blair. When he’s away from the office, he enjoys walking, swimming and playing golf.
